Foster fine motor skills while learning and matching the colors. Rubber band are great for developing hand muscles and always too much fun for little ones to stretch rubber band by hand.
Just grab some buttons, beads and metal wire and create your own wall hanging. Actually they were hanging on our window all winter long, but the original idea was for making wall hangings. ๐
A great embroidery practice for kids and good beginning for sewing. Pre-holes make it even easier for smaller kids. I can say that this is great exercise for 6+. For smaller kids you can use plastic needle and make it even much easier with pre-holes.
In winter the best thing to have fun at home with kids is crafting. While hipping your hot tea, you can make a lovely art collage with your kids. This is a spontaneous one, you can create yours as you wish.
