Some activities are really like a therapy. While creating, your mind is getting relax. Leaf doodling is really too much fun. You can use metallic paint markers to doodle and if you want them to look shiny, you can use nail polishes as we did. They turned out very cute bookmarks.
I feel very happy when my kids come to me with an idea. One day when I went to pick up my son from kindergarten, I saw an acorn in his hand and asked to him about his plan with this acorn and he said to me that he was planning to glue googly eyes on it and then be friend with it.
At home I drew this branches randomly and we went for a walk in the forest to be able to find our aim branches. Of course we couldn’t find exactly the same ones but tried to find very similar ones at least. This is the result. My boys were so excited and they had great time in the nature.
Now we have a branch collection hanging on our door and open to the public.
As craft lovers, autumn is our favourite season, because it is the hit time to find many different colors and resources in the nature. Luckily in Finland there are hundreds of forests and one of them is just a few steps away from our home. Acorns are great for crafting and creating DIY ornaments.
We put all the autumn resources in front of us and enjoyed the tones of autumn. You can see all colors of the autumn in this image. All these resources are from nature. 🍃🍂🍁
It was a spontaneous idea to create a fall tree with fall leaves. 🙂
It is possible to create many animal crafts with leaves and autumn is great time to find amazing warm colors in the nature.
Sometimes things happen spontaneously like this heart. We suddenly found ourselves making a heart from nature. Nature gives us the best resources for crafting and making creative crafts. I am sure that when someone saw this heart located in the middle of playground, had a big smile on his/her face.
Here is super simple play idea to develop little ones’ math skills. There are 15 leaves on the branch. The autumn has just arrived and the leaves have turned yellow. 1 leaf fell down, remained 14 leaves. 1 more leaf fell and remained 13. We put all the fallen leaves into the box. At the same time, the fallen leaves are increasing 1,2,3,4,5… Here is our idea, you can develop it as you want.
We piled the stones on top of each other, then we tried to knock down the stones we had arranged with another stone.
We spent energy, strengthened our gross and fine motor skills, set targets, got plenty of oxygen … I can count more skills. It was a completely natural and spontaneous event for us.
