Autumn is the best time for creating a nature rainbow. We used clear tape to cover body of the tree and then stuck leaves on it. Please do not forget to remove the tape, when you complete your activity. As it is plastic, it is dangerous, poisonous for he nature.
It is possible to prepare many cutting exercises only using an A4 paper. You can draw funny faces, shapes, flowers etc. This time try adding theme on it. you can use even newspaper, if you don’t have colored papers at home. Following the lines while cutting develops hand-eye coordination, as well.
Sudoku is great for all ages. If you are a beginner, you can try 3*3 sudoku with your kid just to understand its logic. For sure, you can choose your own theme. It might be space theme, shapes, animals, flowers and too many options you can find. Our previous theme was bugs. This time I prepared an easier one for my 4 yo boy. It is mushroom themed sudoku, because I made this in autumn 2022 while it was mushroom picking season. After a 3*3 sudoku, next level can be 4*4 and for bigger kids it can be even harder. Starting directly with numbers might be boring and seems more difficult to kids, adding visuals always make it more fun.
Do you like nature crafts? Dried flowers? We really love creating with dried flowers.
All you need is cardboard and playdough. This is great activity to foster fine motor skills. You jus make different size of holes on a piece of cardboard and fill them with playdough. You can also use different materials instead of playdough such as dyed rice, salt, oat etc.
Did you know that all rainbow colors are available in nature during fall season?? Here is the proof of it. Look at this beautiful rainbow made with leaves.
I love creating DIY puzzles for my kids. I usually use cardboard but for sure popsicle sticks, wooden blocks and even fabrics can be used to make DIY puzzles. My favorite one is cardboard, because it is always very easy to give shapes and color cardboards.
You can use colorful papers, cardboard or even an ordinary white paper to practice 10 more/10 less/1 more/1 less.
Are you ready to count? My 3 yo boy has been practicing numbers recently. Now it is 1-2-3 time for us. Let’s find something in nature to practice counting then. Sticks, leaves, cones and whatever you find is great to give a start. 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣
Sometimes seeing your family in a very cute format makes you feel cheerful. At the beginning we created very small family with mum, dad and a baby, but then my second boy offered me to add our baby and his big brother. I hadn’t realized until that moment that he created his own family. So it turned out our weekend fun to craft our family who was enjoying hammock in a forest on a rainy day. 😊
