Foster fine motor skills while learning and matching the colors. Rubber band are great for developing hand muscles and always too much fun for little ones to stretch rubber band by hand.
All you need is cardboard and playdough. This is great activity to foster fine motor skills. You jus make different size of holes on a piece of cardboard and fill them with playdough. You can also use different materials instead of playdough such as dyed rice, salt, oat etc.
Some activities are great for many kids from age 1 to 7 or even more. This activity is one of them. You can start with your 1 yo just by putting pompoms in holes randomly. You can add tongs to make it more difficult for your 2 yo and add simple colors for 3 yo and color patterns for 4-5 yo and then add more holes and longer patterns for 6 it goes on like this. Briefly, It’s up to you to make it easier and harder.
Have ever tried to use kitchen utensils for creating activities? If not yet, you can start with a whisk for your baby/new toddler. You can put pompoms in a whisk and ask your kid to rescue them. It is great for developing many skills. It can help your baby to be able stay in sitting position longer time. Great for crawling times, too. You can put it a little bit far and ask your baby to catch it.

It is our job to find the most fun way to strengthen our little one’s muscles. I love to prepare activities that I have fun at least as much as my children. ๐ “Mom, please can I play a little, too?” I like to hear this sentence very much. ๐
You can use any material for line tracing activity. Just draw lines on a cardboard and trace them with stones, sea shells, etc. This time we chose summer theme.
If your kid has just begin to sit, then it is time to prepare a busy bin for him/her. Either you can directly put big toys into a bin for your baby or you can use yarn/rubber bands to wrap the bin to keep the busy moments longer for your toddler. It can be an amazing sibling fun, too.
Spring is the best time to observe nature and see the new life of plants growing under melting snow. Blossoms always send us positive energy while sending off long and dark winter days. Make a spring craft to welcome spring.
Foam is a great material for sewing practice. You can draw whatever you want and then make holes on foam to make it easier for kids to sew. It is too much fun. I use packing needle for pre-holes.
